Menifee Search and Rescue crews say a 27-year-old woman from Virginia fell off a 20-30 foot cliff in the Long Wall area of Indian Creek. She landed on a rock and hit her head. Rescue crews had to hike two and a half miles to find her. "They said she was climbing the rock and I guess her rope it got slack in it and they said she fell and her head against the rock," said Jake Harris with the Menifee Search and Rescue. The woman was alert when she was flown to UK Hospital, but briefly lost consciousness while being carried down the trail. "She did go unconscious about a minute then came to and said she was in a lot of pain," said Harris. Search and Rescue crew says the fact that someone in her group carried a cell phone helped. "They didn't have cell service down here and don't know how they had service there but had it when they needed it," said Harris. Her injuries do not appear to be life threatening. www.lex18.com/story/30242123/hiker-falls-from-cliff-in-red-river-gorge
