Man Rescued After Failing From Cliff A man was camping alone atop Jailhouse Rock in Powell County last night when he accidentally fell off the cliff while walking in the dark. He had a cell phone on him and called 911 when he reached the bottom of the cliff, which is about 60 to 70 feet high. Dispatchers got the call at about 3 a.m. Wolfe and Powell Search & Rescue responded and the rescue operation took nearly six hours. The man is expected to live. He has broken bones, injuries to his lower body and head. He was conscious and alert throughout the entire rescue. The incident happened near the Wolfe County line. Jailhouse Rock is at the end of Tunnel Ridge Road. Video: www.lex18.com/news/man-rescued-after-falling-70-feet-off-cliff/
