Thank you karenoel for your kind comments. The whole staff here is relieved that it's over. We stayed up most of the night nursing this and we are exhausted, so glad it is over. (at least for now - we will see in a few months but I don't think it will happen again anytime soon).

Whoa, a 24 hour delay would be advisable.
Word from a trusted source --- The Red River Gorge will take time to reopen. Possibly not expected to do so until Friday the 18th. At this time, the situation remains fluid and subject to change.

House in Session, Taking Up Debt Ceiling Agreement The House is now back in session. The representatives are now debating the debt ceiling agreement. By a vote of 81 - 18, the Senate passed the debt ceiling agreement reached between Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Speaker Boehner issued a statement saying that the House GOP will not vote to stop the agreement. " . . . blocking the bipartisan agreement reached today by the members of the Senate will not be a tactic for us," he wrote. Following the Senate vote, President Obama came to the White House Brady Briefing Room and thanked the leaders of both parties in the Senate for passing the agreement. The President said he would sign the measure immediately once it arrives at his desk. Watch live: www.c-span.org/Events/House-in-Session-Taking-Up-Debt-Ceiling-Agreement/10737442041-1/

Washington, DC Wednesday, October 16, 2013 The Senate is scheduled to vote on the debt ceiling agreement reached between Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). The vote will likely be at 6pm ET. If the agreement passes, it goes to the House for a vote, possibly later tonight. Speaker Boehner issued a statement saying that the House GOP will not vote to stop the agreement. " . . . blocking the bipartisan agreement reached today by the members of the Senate will not be a tactic for us," he wrote. The agreement would raise the debt limit until February 2014, fund the government through January 2014 and establish a joint House-Senate committee to make spending cut decisions. Speaking to reporters, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said today that he will not block a Senate vote on a measure aimed at reopening the federal government and avoiding default. The federal government has been shut down since October 1 and funding for all government operations expired September 13. The Obama Administration has said that Thursday is when the Treasury Department will run out of its borrowing authority to fully pay the nation's bills if the debt ceiling is not increased. www.c-span.org/Events/Congress-Expected-to-Vote-on-Senate-Debt-Ceiling-Agreement-Tonight/10737442041-2/
